Chasing vibrant colours and moods of New Zealand’s wild landscapes.

Hi! I’m Nick and I’m based in Canterbury, New Zealand.

I’ve been photographing landscapes since 2014 and am particularly drawn to the mountains, lakes and dramatic skies that New Zealand has to offer.

It was a shoulder injury while surfing in Australia that kickstarted my entry into photography. I was out of action for a number of months but would still head down to Torquay, and beyond, every weekend with mates. I borrowed my wife’s camera to take photos of the surf and I’ve never looked back.

In 2015 we moved back to New Zealand. The variety of landscapes here has been my major influence, and is why I pivoted from taking photos of my mates thrashing around in the water to buying a tripod and heading into the wilderness to chase inspiring landscape images.

In 2025 my wife and I moved from Wellington, where I grew up, to the foothills of the Southern Alps in Canterbury. It has long been a dream of mine to live close to the mountains and it feels like an absolute privilege to now be here, with a view of the mountains from our kitchen window.

Outside of photography I like to spend my time with my two German Shepherds, Leaf and Basil, hiking around Arthur’s Pass, or simply jumping in the car and going for a drive somewhere.
